Ordinary silicone oils have a low refractive index, limiting light transmission, while phenyl silicone oils have an adjustable refractive index and extremely low light transmission loss. They are commonly used to make optical lens filling fluids and automotive lamp sealing media, eliminating optical path refraction errors and improving image clarity. In addition, they have excellent insulation properties and a mild viscosity, making them a specialized insulating oil for precision electrical appliances and high-voltage equipment, providing shock absorption, noise reduction, and circuit safety.
